One Touch Automatic Can Opener

One Touch Automatic Can Opener

I bought this in spite of some of the bad reviews on here and I can only conclude the model has been improved or some people bought a cheaper alternative.

One reviewer said you had to unscrew it to put batteries in, that's just not correct. Another says there is no way to remove it if it's batteries run low, this is also wrong, it has a reverse button to help release it and if the batteries completely die it has a large easily accessible screw to wind it off manually. Maybe the negative reviewers needed to read the instructions more carefully. After either of the actions you have to reset it for it to work properly again.

So far this had worked flawlessly on every tin thrown at it, even my mum can use it, the first ever electric can opener she's ever been able to use.

For £6 and change it's worth every penny.

Panasonic SD255 breadmaker with raisin/nut dispenser

Panasonic SD255 breadmaker with raisin/nut dispenser

Had a breadmaker several years ago, and the loaves turned out like bricks, but decided to give it another go, as the price of bread in the shops has rocketed. Selected the Panasonic because of the positive write ups on Amazon. It's FAB. The Xlarge loaf I find difficult to cut as it's too tall to grip, but the large loaf is just perfect. The loaves come out with a good crust and a light texture inside. Also tried several of the cake recipes - Cherry and Marzipan and the Boozy cake - both went down well. Tried the dough only for bread rolls, which was good and the pizza dough, which made four individual pizzas (my family all like different toppings!) My advice would be to buy and try for yourself.

Dyson DC24 Allfloors - The Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Iron Satin Yellow

Dyson DC24 Allfloors - The Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Iron Satin Yellow

Buying a Dyson saved the hassle of making shore you had some bags for your hoover as you didnt need any for it - which is great!
So, when i saw this design (and knowing how good Dysons are at sucking things up) I just had to have it!
Its funny how all the hoover companies who wouldn't except Dyson's designs immediately copied them when his hoover was selling like mad. The only problems with it would be just picking just like you can do with other hoovers. - I think this Vacuum Cleaner is the best I've ever bought (for the price it is definitely worth it!).

The Big Cheese - Cat Repeller

The Big Cheese - Cat Repeller

Installed the repeller last week with high hopes of stopping our garden from being the toilet for our neighbours cats. As of yesterday there appeared to be fewer tell tale "signs"! of cats having visited so I was feeling very happy with my purchase. Unfortunately this morning I spotted a cat basking in the sun in the middle of the lawn well within the range of the repeller which makes me think that the abscence of "signs" (!) may sadly be short lived.

Dyson DC25 Allfloors- The Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Iron Satin Yellow

Have used a Dyson DC01 for the past 15 years along with various other brands that came and went! DC25 arrived today (2 days after ordering it through Amazon!) and it is absolutely brilliant! It addresses all the issues I had with the DC01 which was best in its class at the time. The DC25 is light weight, has adequate capacity and deals with all types of floor at the flick of a switch. The ball takes the effort out of the pushing and changes of direction are effortless. Well done Dyson this is a winner!Dyson DC25 Allfloors- The Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner - Iron Satin Yellow

BALANZZA LUGGAGE / SUITCASE WEIGH SCALE

BALANZZA LUGGAGE / SUITCASE WEIGH SCALE

Previous reviews sum things up pretty well. Simple to use. The fact that the weight is displayed after putting the item down is a great improvement over using conventional spring balance and attempting to read it 'loaded'.
When I first used it I had the peculiar experience of the scale displaying exactly the same weight for a bag twice, but when I removed items the weight actually increased!!
I've used it again since, over a number of days, and now the weight remains consistent. I can only put it down to the scale 'setting down'.

Numatic HVR200 Henry Vacuum Cleaner Red 1200W

Numatic HVR200 Henry Vacuum Cleaner Red 1200W

When I needed a vacuum cleaner, I didn't initially consider a Henry. A smiley face wasn't what I needed. It looks like a cross between a very basic 1970s vacuum cleaner and a merchandising tie-in with an old children's TV program. The Adventures of Henry and Hettie, CBBC, Thursdays at 4:30pm, or something like that. Bagged. No HEPA filtration. No DualTurbo Hurricane Dust Maelstrom blahblah system. 1200W, when 2000W is common. No pet hair remover tool (I have a lot of hair and shed like a pack of long-haired dogs, except that the hair is up to a couple of feet long).

So...an underpowered, overpriced children's toy vacuum cleaner with primitive technology. Not what I wanted, obviously.

I asked on a forum I use...and all but two people recommended Henry. People with more money than they knew what to do with were recommending Henry. Builders were saying that they used Henry to clean up plaster, wood chips, brick dust, even dry sand, anything at all.

So I bought one. 1200W not enough? Wrong. It's fine on the 600W setting, using a third of the power of normal vacuum cleaners. On 1200W, it'll clean your floorboards through your carpet. The airflow is greater than the 2KW vacuum cleaner I borrowed. No HEPA...sure there is, just use the HEPAflo bags. No pet hair tool...none needed, the normal head will easily get hair off carpets. It's also far, far quieter than any other vacuum cleaner I've used. I wanted ear protection with some of them. You could have a conversation while using a Henry.

Forget the cutesy children's toy image. Henry is serious kit. It fulfills the function of a vacuum cleaner without trying to look futuristic and without impressive-sounding gadgetry. Henry is basically better.

Philips GC4340 Azur Premium Steam Iron with Auto Shut Off 2400W

Philips GC4340 Azur Premium Steam Iron with Auto Shut Off 2400W

After owning various irons that came with good reputation but were absolutely rubbish, I bought this and my word!! This is fantastic!! The ceramic plate makes all the difference. The difference is so obvious when you use this to iron! It irons so smooth you think your shirts has come out of the dry cleaners. Easy to use and operate also for people like me who are not very good in ironing anyways!!

Brita Maxtra Filter Cartridges x 3

Brita Maxtra Filter Cartridges x 3

I can understand the frustration of some reviewers - I guess I've just got lucky on two occasions.....12 for 9 certainly works out a lot cheaper.

KEEP CHECKING REGULARLY ON AMAZON - BUT BE WARNED, THEY DO SELL OUT QUICKLY AND THERE'S NOWHERE I'VE FOUND CHEAPER.
